Message to my Amhara brothers and sisters: ~

Why do we insist on singing Ethiopia?The Ethiopia we know has broken apart in the past 20 years. Here we are between the Tigrays and Oromos.
Though the decades old tradition of the Tigrays attempting to blame Amharas for every ill known to the region, the damage they are doing to our future security is worse.

The Tigrays are assuring Amharas will always be in the grips of poverty and conflict by
~~~ Selling land to Sudan from west Gonder. No more evidence is needed of the Tigrays' plan here. Once TPLF declares an independent Tigray then we are the ones left to deal with Sudan on our illegally given land. Since this was signed by an illegal (yet legal) government, it is guaranteed we will be fighting an uphill fight for long years to come.

~~~ Selling Nile rights to Egypt (the source of which is in our backyard). The Tigrays have assured whoever has the Tana lake cannot build any developmental projects on it by signing another illegal (yet legal) deal with Egypt. Imagine this. When Tigray becomes independent and soon afterwards Oromia (yes this is where things are going) how many rivers would we have left in the Amhara region?
The Nile. Tigrays are effectively locking us up with what is proposed to be the source of wars in the near future (water.)
When that time comes where we have to start using the Nile for our people the Tigray Bandas will probably stab us once again by assisting the Egyptians to destroy us.
This is a real situation we are facing.
~~~ Tigrays are also insuring the Amhara people are slowly dying out by making sure disease and poverty spreads. Tigrays have closed down many health institutions. They have denied federal money for the region under many guises. These Tigrays are instituting sterilization projects to decrease the birth rate in our region. TPLF also makes sure no developmental or economic growth takes place by sabotaging any effort to spread poverty. Amharas are one of the worst people now when it comes to infant mortality.

~~~ Tigrays have also attempted to make members of the Oromo ethnic group hate the Amharas. This is actually one of the areas TPLF failed it seems. The Oromos are slowly waking up to the fact that it is these TPLF agents that instigate conflicts in these inter-ethnic areas. But nontheless the damage has already be done. As long as the Oromo people can be expected to be under the influence of their elites, it is guaranteed no good views towards Amharas can be expected. The irony is Tigrays are now perceived to be worse.

We need to start realizing that our people are being pushed to mass grave. Many of us, whether we like it or not, are perceived as Amharas and not as Ethiopians. The only Ethiopia left is in our imagination as things have quickly changed before we noticed it.

The only thing we have is our courage and history. We are weak in terms of military material, as all the weapons are confiscated by Tigrays. Even the Airforce has moved to Tigray.
Using the Badme war as an excuse, most of the military hardware, be it tanks, aircraft, artillery and so on are in the hands of Tigrays. I can guarantee that they will not return any of these come that time for them to declare independence.
We are weak and exposed.

It is easy to say Ethiopia is a place where such things as the story of Yugoslavia cannot happen. But this is far from the reality as we have witnessed. We may be from the cities or we may be in other countries. But this, in the end, is our home and our people. Unless we start recognizing this danger and start acting within this reality we will be like the Jews who had no home.
