This video describes in detail the challenges of our veterans that are living on the streets. Our solution for transitional housing is designed to provide for a cooling, transitional, healing period for veterans when they come back from war. We can do so much to avoid the challenges that Gunny describes in his life by providing this transitional living. These are a series of interviews with homeless Veterans in Colorado Springs on life on the streets, Veteran's issues, cops, services, camp raids, etc.
This is "Gunny", a 14 year Marine Veteran of the Gulf War.
When the video from Robert Moran from The Street Church was broadcast, it started a conversation about the city contracting with Keep Colorado Springs Beautiful for services to raid the camps and haul off the property found there. These are some eye witness accounts of the loss of that property.
A federal class action lawsuit filed in Denver has stopped the practice for now. See the original homeless camp raid video here:
