The first-annual National Agricultural Proficiency Award in Veterinary Medicine, sponsored by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) was presented on October 23, 2009 at the FFA National Convention in Indianapolis, Ind. This AVMA award is presented to promising young students who aspire to be large animal veterinarians. Three finalists won $500, and the winner received $1,000. (less info)
