Ambient Airwaves' mission is to be a comprehensive source of "atmospheric music"- Shoegaze, Psychedelic, Drone, Noise Pop, Post Rock and Ambient music; providing one source for fans to visit, in order to revitalize and support these genre's of music and the musicians who create it.
We are a source to promote bands in these genres, for fans to communicate with the artists, share music and listen to music in consolidated locations on You Tube, My Space, FaceBook, Twitter, Pandora and future social sites, in order to provide exposure for these great bands and artists.
It was created to help you explore these great genre's of music in one location.
If the music moves your soul, purchase it. If the band still exists and tours, please attend the concerts when they are in your city, they will be so appreciative that you did!

For various reasons, we lost such bands as MBV, Lush, Catherine Wheel, Slowdive, Ride, Swerdriver and Chapterhouse and the genre faded away. We don't want to lose bands like this again!
Each band is unique in their style, they live outside the box, on the edge and that is what we love about them.
Please be patient with the creation of these pages and others, they are always evolving.
The current roster of each band is on the Ambient Airwaves playlist on You Tube for now. If a band from 1996 is not listed for example, it is because no video could be found. If you have footage, please send it or post it and let us know.
Official studio recordings and videos are preferred, but if a concert video gives justice to the band or nothing else exists, we will add it.
