BIOGRAPHY
Talent can take you places. Luck can speed you up a few paces. But it takes true grit to turn faces. And true grit is precisely what fuels Aman D Desi Rap Da Gunda's unquenchable penchant for success.
Donning a title that literally translates itself as The Thug of Desi Rap, Aman D lives every moment of his life carrying immense belief and ambition on his broad shoulders, with the will to fly high and the desire to defy destiny. Born in Punjab, India on the 28th of November 1990, Aman D spent his younger days as a bit of an introvert, trying to find his footing as he grew up little by little. Growing up, young Aman was least bothered about school and education, his sense of direction leading his feet out of school by grade 7 and finding itself rather comfortable on the streets of the UAE. However, this taught the young rapper some of the more important values of life that one would never learn within the four walls of a classroom. Street smartness, passion, character and life's challenges all made their presence felt gradually, as the young rapper flipped through each page of life to learn one lesson after another. Quoting money as his 'second love', Aman even found himself on the wrong side of the law in pursuit of deep pockets via hook or crook, shifting bases from Abu Dhabi to Sharjah amidst teenage angst.
Hard hitting and fearless in his approach to music, experience enabled the youngster to pick up the pieces of his life as he walked through everything that stood between him and his dreams. The young rapper realized over time that rapping was a serious business and required a lot of heart, a virtue he displays with every beat of his music.
One day as a preteen, Aman D watched in awe on television as a white rapper rapped his heart out and got an enormous crowd on their feet, fanatically saluting him and his music. Aman had just witnessed the great Eminem in action for the first time and instantly realized that the only classroom he ever needed was a recording studio. Immersing himself in the world of rap music, Aman soon discovered an inborn craze for the genre, bobbing his head and tapping his feet to the likes of 50 cent, Dr. Dre and the late great, 2PAC. Innovative and profoundly inclined to stand out from the crowd, Aman soon began busting his own rhymes and penning his own lines in Punjabi, soon transforming himself from a middle school dropout to a passionate and dedicated Desi Rapper.
The culmination of his hard work and determination took shape with the release of True life, his pioneering foray into the music industry in the year 2009, which fared extraordinarily well amonglisteners, producing hits like Main Girl and Born to Be a G among many others. Positive feedback eclipsed all of the hardships that went into generating them and familiarized Aman D's name on the local scene, which he honestly believes has a future for aspiring rappers. The Crime Scene, his second album, followed a little over a year later, cementing his name as a serious contender in the UAE, which has slowly started becoming Aman's musical stronghold.
Aman D currently works with many other up and coming talents in the UAE like DJ Daku, Izzy Wizzy Bone, Real MC, and DJ Danny Khiladi among many others. The rap prodigy can also be seen performing in various nightclubs and hotspots around town, belting out his hits one after the other to Desi rap enthusiasts.
