Pr 13:20 "He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed."
Growing up with the wrong people I went through many odd stages. Having been raised going to Church I considered myself a Christian, through my friends I embraced Nazism and Communism.
One of my friends acted stupid leaving a Swastika on the board in a classroom, clearly when the teacher found it later that day he was ready to express his disgust and deal out justice. It was clear to him who it would have been, but he did not accuse us openly. I claimed he would not accuse me or deal out the justice he described to the class on account of the character of my friend, I thought he would be blamed and held the bible I kept in my pocket and the name 'christian' I held as my protection.
That night I had a dream, in this dream the teacher accused me, but said he would consider if "You can write the 10 laws!" I wrote and I wrote, I looked down to see the 10 Commandments. I awoke to find these I did not know. So clearly I fixed that, and learned them though it became only head knowledge.
Soon after little changed until one day; not too much special about this one day Nov 26, except it was the first snow; I decided to play in it, as that is what youths do. I went into the backyard and something caught my eye, a white dog. It was barely distinguishable due to the snow, but being a youth and it being a dog I decided to chase it into the woods!... Me being a youth and it being a WHITE dog, I quickly lost it. At this time I stopped and looked around at the beauty of the snow-covered trees around me. I realized I had called myself a Christian for so long but forgot something, or rather someone, God.
I also realized what I had done to the name of Christ, calling myself a Christian! There I feel to my knees seeing none to save me from the depravity of my own soul but one, the Saviour, Jesus Christ. Then I called to him to be my Saviour and Lord, and have desired to serve him since.
Gal. 2:20 "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."
Pr 30:5 "Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him."
