Also I plays some of my own music. You can see me through my videos some of these are recorded from several of my recitals.

About Me:
Ordoñez was born in Pasto (Colombia) and studied at the Music Department of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia with pianists Andrés Linero (2002-2003), Mariana Posada (1994-2001) and Beatriz Acosta (1993-1994). He earned a Master's Degree in Piano Pedagogy (2006-2007) at the same university, studying with Harold Martina, Miguel Angel Scebba and Abraham Abreu. He has also taken part in master classes with Geert Dehoux, Leonid Kuzmin, Bernd Glemser, Sergei Sichkov, Gabriela Montero and Eugene Alcalay among others.
After taking part in the "Musicalfa" Festival for young musicians (1995-1996.) Alvaro won First Prize in several national competitions: "Colombia suena bien" (1999), broadcast on national TV, "Young Interpreter of the Conservatory" and "Revivamos Nuestra Música" (2002). He also won Second Prize, Third Prize an Honorable Mention in the "National piano Competition in Bucaramanga --UIS-" (1999-2001-2004-2006). He performed in the program "Música en vivo en una radio viva", broadcast on U.N Radio (2002-2006-2008), many of his performances have been broadcast by the Radio Difusora Nacional. Alvaro is also featured on a CD of piano music by Colombian composers, published by "Mundo al Día" news betwen 1924 and 1938.
In addition to acompaning/teaching at the Music Department of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (2005-2008) and working as a profesor of piano at the academy "Piccola Capella" in Bogotá (2004-2005), he is a piano teacher at the Music Department of the Universidad de Nariño in Pasto, Colombia (since 2008). His experience as a concert pianist includes performances with orchestra, solo recitals and chamber music in some concert halls of Colombian cities like Bogotá, Bucaramanga, Ibagué, Villavicencio, Villa De Leyva, Pasto, Popayan and Manizales, among others. He has played concerts with the Symphony Orchestra of the Conservatory (Universidad Nacional), Symphony Orchestra of Tolima, and the old Colombian Symphony orchestra, with conductors Eduardo Carrizosa, Blas Emilio Atehortúa, Gustav Kolbe and Zbigniew Zajac. His repertoire includes piano concertos by L. v. Beethoven, F. Liszt, D. Shostakovich and A. Copland.
