Im not a fan of stereotypes. I am not your typical fat black female. To tell you the truth, I don't believe that I know what it means to be black. I consider myself JUST American. I have friends from many backgrounds, and I am fascinated by each and every one. I love language and culture, that is why I am self teaching myself a little bit of Japanese, German, Tagalog, and Vietnamese. Its hard, but I know a lot of people that will help me. I enjoy playing that piano and guitar, although I have never had any lessons. I have a very eclectic taste in a lot of things, such as the music I listen to, the tv shows I watch, and the friends I have. So it comes as a bit of a shock being in a school with more than 90% African Americans. You may think that I am just like them, but Im not. We are all different. Id like to learn more about my heritage, and show everyone the beauty there is in dark skin. Because I dont think african american children grow up with any positive images of themselves on tv and in other media. There are so few, and I wish there were more...
