I do know about God. I know his story, and I know what he wants to "do for us," I simply don't buy it.

I have no proof that God doesn't exist, just as you have no proof he does exist. If either of us had proof, then the world would not be arguing over religion. They'd know the facts and that would be that. The Bible is not fact. As I just said, if it were fact, it'd prove a lot. It doesn't though. The only "facts" in the Bible are some historical references. I believe some of those things happened, but none of the crazy miraculous things...Like Methuselah living for 969 years. There is no fact behind that.

Saying "He's the First and the Last, Alfa and Omega" Means nothing. It still doesn't tell me where he came from. It's just an empty answer.

That's just it. I don't need to believe that something happens after we die. I'm comfortable knowing that you die and that's it! I feel like I'm sugar-coating life by believing that something happens after you die. It's like believing in karma - it's a comforting idea to think that people are getting what they deserve. It's a comforting idea that after we die, we go to Heaven (or wherever). But I don't need to be comforted, 'cause I'm comfortable knowing that nothing happens. There are bad things in this world, but overall, people are decent and nice. After all, the saying is, "shit happens" not, "shit happens for a reason."

You are MORE than welcome to believe what you want, but do not speak to me as though I HAVE to believe it as well. Claiming that I won't make it to Heaven is what you believe will happen to me if I don't "get right with God;" However, if I don't believe in God, that way of thinking goes not even apply to me. Do you understand that?

Think of it all from a logical standpoint - God created the universe, but in order to create something, you must first exist outside of it. How did God create the universe if there was nothing outside of it? It doesn't follow the rules. Also, if God created everything, who created him? Are you going to feed me that "he has just always been" bullshit line? You most likely will. It's a cop-out line that every Christian uses.

You act like the ONLY explanation for our existence is God. I happen to believe in evolution. While it may not be a solid theory (see how I don't claim it's a fact?), it is FAR more logical than believing God created us. Evolution gives credit to you and me for evolving, not some guy in the sky for creating us out of dirt.

First off, stop commenting as though what you believe is FACT. I will say it over and over. I believe there is no God, but I would never be so arrogant as to say that I KNOW he doesn't exist. I simply firmly believe he doesn't.
