Insert Coin.

The coin was a quarter. It bought me 25 cents artificially-colored drinks loaded with high fructose corn syrup, oatmeal cookies, onion and garlic and salt 'n vinegar potato chips, and a "credit" at the local dingy arcade, most likely to be your local pizza joint with gummy and sticky floors. A perfect combination that provided joy for a 11 year old kid who was about to become overweight or get cavities in his teeth.

The days of walking into an arcade and seeing nothing but wall-to-wall video games of different varieties, sometimes three or four rows deep, are long gone. No more do you have a lineup like Altered Beast, UN Squadron, Kid Niki, Magic Sword, Golden Axe, Cyber E-Swat, Cadash, Operation Wolf, Super Off-Road, WWF Wrestlefest, P.O.W, 'Nam 75, The Main Event, Elevator Action, Double Dragon, Ninjawarriors, Darius, R-Type, Shinobi, Rastan, Magic Sword, and Rampage (just to name a few - I could go on) all snuggled together, with a full wall of pinball games.
