A government which robs Peter to pay Paul, can always count on the support of Paul. - George Bernard Shaw

If you are not free to choose wrongly and irresponsibly, you are not free at all. - Jacob Hornberger

They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. - Benjamin Franklin

Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. Moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue. - Barry Goldwater

Mankind are greater gainers by suffering each other to live as what seems good to themselves than by compelling each to live as seems good to the rest. - John Stuart Mill

Liberty to be inefficient and miserable. Freedom to be a round peg in a square hole. -Mustapha Mond, World Controller

Government's an affair of sitting, not hitting. You rule with the brains and the buttocks, never with the fists. -Mustapha Mond, World Controller

Presumably I wouldn't get very far arguing about the ethics of personal sovereignty with someone who thinks the highest good one can do is to sacrifice a virgin to Quetzalcoatl - Alio

"Government is the great fiction through which everybody endeavors to live at the expense of everybody else." -Government by Frederic Bastiat, 1848

No, I haven't but that seems to pretty much sum-up a pretty reasonable conclusion on the subject.

Like your page. I see a lot of comments about the mosque at ground zero. Have you heard Dennis Miller's The Big Speech? "CAN you build a mosque at ground zero? Yes, of course you can. SHOULD you build a mosque at ground zero? NO. Because it's bad manners."

Your comment on that Barney Frank video was really insightful. It's always nice to hear from members of the armed forces.

And it's always great to see a fan of Carl Sagan! That right there is a recipe for clear and sound thinking. Cheers!

so Aliothemage, by that logic....it was funny mostly blacks fought for their civil rights.....women for their suffrage movement....old people fought for their rights to pensions......soldiers fought for their right to free health care and not be treated like dirt when they came back from a war zone. Don't know about your world, but its a little known fact, those who are being demonized or prosecuted in whatever way starts to speak up for themselves 1st....you know SELF PRESERVATION.

It should not matter what race, religion or whatever 'Ism' one speaks under, what matters is the substance of their talking points.

Man, you really know how to put words in my mouth don't you? Did I say it was funny that an Arab or Muslim spoke their mind? No, I was saying that it was funny that the one guy in the world I was arguing with over the ground zero mosque just happened to be an Arab, and most likely a Muslim. And did I say anything about hating Arabs?

It's a pretty weak argument to just throw unfounded accusations of racism at people you disagree with.
nayef012 (1 year ago)
so in your sick and twisted mind a muslim or arab would be worth a "laugh" to speak their mind? that's dumb.. there is nothing on my page that's funny or worth a bit of a laugh.. but if you hate arabs you'd see things your way
