On the face of things her musical style is simplistic and uncomplicated, but re-listening reveals intriguing structures that confirm that often less is indeed more. Combine this with lyrics - that seem truly heartfelt, carrying undying echoes of love, lust, loss, hope and determination, her songs are delivered with a distinctive and unforgettable blow.

At the age of 17 Alice wrote her first piano piece interestingly entitled 'Bellyache', a reflection of feelings in her world at the time. Also at this time she was involved in theatre, dance and acting and it wasn't until 2 years later, at the age of 19, that she began to really pursue her artistic ambitions within music.

Since November 2009 Alice Olivia has been working with producer/songwriter Khalil Bertini (Lipso D) http://www.youtube.com/EssenceRemixes Their sound is a mixture of classically infused instruments and melodies, modern Hip-hop/ RnB beats and, most predominantly, powerfully sweet harmonious vocals - all brought together by clever, contemporary reworking.

In live performances Alice Olivia is known to invent unplanned additions and spontaneous improvisations whilst maintaining consistent star quality that is sure to leave audiences awe-inspired.

Alice Olivia is currently working on her album due for digital release in 2011. Having already recorded over 35 tracks, collaborating with various artists/producers, she continues to push the boundaries of her creativity. Whilst she wants her future to be in music her talents are by no means limited to this area having demonstrated 'professional' performances at two Edinburgh Fringe sell-out shows taking lead roles in Little Shop of Horrors and A Slice of Saturday Night.

With such a great deal achieved in a short space of time 'commercialisation' is a potential risk to Alice Olivia's brand. By remaining true to her convictions her future looks better assured.
