Passion. Talent. Creativity. Allure. Listen to the music of singer/songwriter Ali Sifflet, and bear witness to all four. Having discovered her passion for music as a child, the Bay Area native has been writing and performing ever since. The daughter of an Irish-American mother and a Haitian father, her point of view transcends cultural barriers and genre-specific confines, lending a distinct authenticity to her music. An impassioned mix of R&B, soul, jazz and gospel, her signature sound has been influenced by artist like Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, Jill Scott, and Yolanda Adams.

Her mother, Amy, recalls Ali "losing herself in songs" while sitting at the family piano. "When she was young, I would catch her playing the piano and writing her own lyrics. The words didn't always rhyme or make sense, but her music was always beautiful—it just flowed from within her, even when she was a little girl."

At age 11, while singing at a wedding reception, Ali had an experience that still inspires her today. "An intense passion took over my body," she recalls. "The notes, the music, the words—they were all so joyful, so reassuring—these are the reasons why I sing."

Today, Ali aims to share the lessons life has taught her with every note she sings--each song gives her a chance to make a personal connection with her audience. "I'm still young, but I've learned a lot about life," the 21 year old songstress says. "All my lyrics are inspired by real situations and emotions. Music has an amazing ability to touch the soul, and the opportunity to share that with others is one that I'm truly grateful for. Music gives me a sense of tranquility everyone deserves to feel."

Though inspired by personal experiences, the sentiments echoed in Ali's music are universal—from the sorrows of heartbreak and sadness to the delights of friendship and love. In "Me First," a ballad she wrote at age 19, Ali captures her personal journey to self-discovery. She actually refused to record the song until she had accomplished the message she hoped to share with her listeners: in order to be happy with someone else, one must first find inner confidence. "Me First" is just one example of Ali's ability to connect with audiences through lyrics that speak to issues everyone can identify with.

Ali is currently studying psychology at Siena College in Albany, New York. A permanent fixture in music venues throughout upstate New York, she performs both as a solo artist and as the lead singer of rock band Reason to Ride.

She continues to hone her craft by recording in New York City, and looks forward to captivating the attention of the world.
