O you who believe! obey Allah and obey the Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), and those of you (Muslims) who are in authority.
( سورة النساء , An-Nisa, #4, Verse #59)
For non-believers of Aayat 4:59 all Muwayians & his supporters)
O you who believe! If you obey those who disbelieve, they will send you back on your heels, and you will turn back (from Faith) as losers.
( سورة آل عمران , Aal-e-Imran #3, Verse #149)
4:93] If a man kills a believer intentionally; his recompense is Hell, to abide therein (For ever): And the wrath and the curse of Allah are upon him, and a dreadful penalty is prepared for him.
If both were believers than how would they kill each other against orders of Allah swt? More than 90 thousand Muslims & Munafiqeen killed in Sufeen. A believer can't kill any believer until his rivals is non-believer. Mutineers (Muwayians) were non-believers as said in Quran
In Sunni Islam all Sunni sectors have their different Imams with their different fiqas. Shian e Ali believe in one Fiqah & that is Fiqah e Jaferia. The Arch Bishop u said may be one of ur Bidha sectors not from Shian e Ali coz faith on one Fiqah e Mohammedia through Hz Imam Jafer Sadiq (AS). All narrations of Tehreef r narrated by Sunni Sahabas & Imams not from any Shia Imam. Read quotes I mention regarding Tehreef of Hz Ayisha, Hz Omer & Hz Abdulah bin Omer.
Allah swt said in Quran

Hadith supports Aayat 4:93 that say a believer can't kill a believer. It would be not justice to claim both groups as non-believer. Allah swt said "O you who believe! obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those of you (Muslims) who are in authority". Hz Ali (AS) was righteous Khalifa of Islam in authority among believers. Muwayia disobeyed righteous Khalifa in violation of Aayat 4:59. Muwayia was a mutineer by prediction of Rasool Allah for shahadat of Aamer Yaser with mutineers.
Allah swt said if he abrogates any Aayat he reveal a new one & Allah swt keep the abrogated Aayat in Quran. The biggest & dreadful punishment in Islam is stoning but sorry to say the Aayat along with many Aayat were eaten by goats. The Quran compiling committee didn't include any Aayat which was not presented in written shape. It was never abrogated & Hz Aysha reported its loss after death of Rasool Allah when Wahee was stopped to tell about abrogation of Aayat.
