Exactlyyy. I like how you pointed out that the points in the books are VERY obvious, but people seem to miss the point.
To add, when you're inside of a culture and have been socialized in it, it's hard to see your advantages and etc. until someone points it out to you.
I love the points this series makes!! I want to use it in a Middle School classroom someday to introduce kids to the idea that good literature does more than tell an interesting story.
And what grammar mistakes are you talking about? If you're referring to saying "good" instead of "well," good can be correct. "Good" could be describing the "something" that the speaker did instead of how the "something" was done. Also, it rhymes with "could," and sometimes grammar rules can be broken for a higher purpose. And I'm saying that as a grammar geek/English major, so I understand how irritating bad grammar is. At least the video creator used the correct "you're."
I'm really enjoying this new channel! I love learning about new things that I wouldn't normally hear about. Keep up the good work, guys! You're achieving exactly what you wanted to achieve.
The Hebrew word for "day" can also mean a year, a lifetime, or a period of time. The people who translated the Bible obviously know more than I do, but I wonder if maybe it's not supposed to literally mean a day like we think of a day.
I totally remember praying this and kind of being freaked out by the "and if I should die before I wake" part. Hahaha. Thank you, Tim Hawkins, for making me feel less alone in the world.
I don't actually have it written out at this time... I'll probably vlog about it at some point, tho. =D
