We will tell stories about the pets, including dogs, cats, and horses available for adoption at Alaqua Animal Refuge in Freeport, Florida. Alaqua is a private, donation funded shelter.
We'll also blog about animal welfare issues, including the effort to establish a No-Kill program at Walton County's (FL) first public animal shelter. The new shelter is under construction and is due to open in October. Changing the hearts and minds of local officials is the challenge. Saving the lives of companion animals is the goal.
