The reason the GTR is so dominant is because of that well off launch control and DCT that doesn't lose boost on shifts. Audi/Lamborghini said OH HELL NO... so the new generation R8 is gonna DCT with launch control, & the Gallardo replacement is...

Its funny how u mention HP when comparing GTR vs Gallardos. UGR has squeezed over 1900whp out of atleast 2 of their texas mile cars, but choose to build 1500whp apps for their customers because of the thought of 1900+hp is just INSANE! alot of GTR fanboys complain of the HP differe...

I don't have exact specs of HP on the GTR, just word of mouth from owner of claimed 580whp (some people exaggerate). I was really quite shocked about the results of the race but at the same time knew the weight issue would be a determinant factor.

look at the dates.... 1200hp 6 months ago... its 2012, this beast has gained .4 liters of displacement. Quite easy to make 200+ more hp especially when you have a bigger capacity and ability to add more boost. lol "Supra can't make 1200hp".... that's the dumbest thing iv'e ever...

GTR has turbo's... if u wanna go engine for engine, tell Nissan to stop adding turbo's to their R35 and see how they fail at making a fast N/A motor. That being said, there is no replacement for displacement... add twin turbo's to a Viper and you have a recipe for a 7 second car maki...

maybe, but also consider the texas mile was in TEXAS with hotter surface temps making it easier to stick. Also, the UGR cars in texas were prepped with heat pads on the tires before each run and were running way pass 1550whp (almost 2000hp for the superleggera).

haha.... not really since you can get a used 900-1100whp Supra for around 80k depending on the mileage. Friends brother just sold his for 65k and it made over 750whp. GTR is so overrated... it becomes a brick pass 120mph and starts to fall back from cars with better power to weight...
