Hey, I know this was a while ago, but I suggest you try the Captain Black Royal. The Gold is very mild compared to the Original and the Royal and can seem a little bland. It's matured cavendish tobacco's; mainly matured virginia with a splash of brown cavendish, so its not as complex.

@SmokingEssy7887 Oh I understand that, but you always return to the basics , just like I have and many others. As you mature and your smoking techniques improve you may find yourself returning to the Captain Black and it may actually turn out to be one of your favorites. Just a thought :)

They are both very nice horns, thank you for sharing with us. I personally would go with the Yamaha, its wider bow helps to define the lower register more than with the Selmer in my opinion..

@549heydrew I dont know if you got an answer or not but the best of my knowledge he uses a Selmer Paris alto saxophone; probably a Mark VI, with a New York Meyer 5M and La Voz reeds.

I like the sound of the New York myself, it has a darker more lyrical sound to it. You have a nice tone, keep it up ;)

Nice review, I really like this blend a lot myself. My tin has a backbone of cavendish to it. It is a nice tobacco, not to much of a sweet or burley taste to me, it is pretty good though.
