When Aiko was 11 her parents mysteriously died, she never knew how but she was sure that kira did it , her childhood hero L worked with her parents in the kira task force.She always looked up to him and devolped a crush on him,after her parents died Aiko joined the kira task force where she met Light Yagami , she wasn't sure that she could true him.While in the task force Aiko went to To Oh Universtry to study , Light was in the same class.Later that year Aiko met a shinigami called Kuja who understood what see was going through and willingly gave her his death note.Aiko gained the shinigami eyes and soon after she found out that Light was in fact Kira.She met Misa Amane Light's girlfriend , she was sure that she was the second Kira.She told L and he was impressed.She admitted her feelings to L right before he died.When he died Aiko go very angry and swore to kill Kira no matter what.She took over the task force.The next year Aiko's twin sister moved to Tokyo, unlike Aiko Yuri loved Kira just like Misa did.Aiko made sure that Light knew to keep away from Yuri or else.Light tired to kill Aiko but failed.When Aiko met Near and Mello she didn't like them very much but worked with them to find Kira.In the end Light/Kira killed Yuri shortly after he admitted he was Kira.
