About this user
Agilyx, formerly Plas2Fuel Corporation, is a privately held alternative energy company located in Tigard, Oregon has developed a continuous batch process in which previously unrecyclable waste plastic is converted, through heat and applied negative pressure, into ultra-sweet, synthetic crude oil. Through this process, Agilyx's technology has the capacity to convert 100 billion pounds of garbage plastic into 250 million barrels of crude oil a year in the U.S. alone.Agilyx is pioneering this sector of alternative energy as the first permitted operation that produces high-grade, ultra sweet, synthetic crude oil from garbage plastics. Other firsts include being the first company in the world to ship and sell multiple tanker trucks of this synthetic oil to commercial refineries that produce American Society for Testing and Materials-spec petroleum products, such as ultra-low sulfur diesel. Agilyx is the only clean technology company producing a domestic alternative to fossil fuels, thus, adding to the nation's oil supply and reducing dependence on foreign oil.
Agilyx, most recently located in Kelso, Wash., launched in 2004. Since then, its popularity within sustainability and environmental circles has grown. In 2008, the Portland Business Journal ranked it among the top 10 businesses in terms of attracting venture capital, the only alternative energy company to make the list. The company's capital investment now tops $7.5 million, multiplying six-fold in the last two years. Most recently, the company won the "Cool Product of the Year" award at TechAmerica's Oregon Technology Awards ceremony in early May.
Agilyx employs 9 individuals on site, including five veterans of U.S. military service, and 12 extended contractor/consultants. Agilyx expects to have 30 full-time employees by the close of 2010. In addition, scores of jobs in the craft metal, electronics, plumbing and waste plastic industries are supported with system fabrication and operation of the Hunziker Street facility. Agilyx plans on corporate evolution, as well as growing its operations in Oregon and throughout the U.S. The company's vision is an entire planet with zero mixed waste plastic polluting our environment -- all plastic is recycled conventionally or via Agilyx's technology.
The Hunziker Street facility is a showcase operation, serving as a demonstration plant for customers, a training platform for employees and customers' employees, as corporate headquarters, and as Agilyx's research and design nexus for developing an innovative and agile conversion system.
