The Electronics and Communications (EC) Business Unit has a proven record of developing and integrating technologies into new, innovative solutions. For example, the Universal Gateway to Telecommunications Equipment (uGATE) family of military and civilian communications interoperability equipment allows dissimilar radios to be instantly networked together.
Under contract with the Air Force Research Laboratory Space Vehicles Directorate, Advatech's Advanced Technology (AT) Division has coupled aerospace scientists and software engineers to produce an integrated, physics-based space vehicle analysis and design tool called Integrated Space Engineering Tool (ISET). The AT Division has developed the Advanced Cost Model (ACM) which accurately estimates space vehicle development costs by scientifically estimating the cost/risk of maturing an emerging technology to a sufficiently high technology readiness level (TRL).
The AT Division also provides our aerospace and DoD customers with advanced physics-based, design and analysis tools and analysis support using those tools. The Integrated Propulsion Analysis Tool (IPAT), developed under a contract with Air Force Research Laboratory Propulsion Directorate, is arguably the most advanced launch vehicle analysis and design tool in use today. Using IPAT, Advatechs engineers analyzes most any launch vehicle concept to include solid, liquid, air-breathers, and hybrid engines for expendable vehicles, reusable vehicles, as well as combinations of both.
Advatechs Analysis & Design (AD) Division provides our customers with computer aided engineering (CAE) and computer aided design (CAD) support services using the latest engineering tools. Our extensive engineering expertise ranges from the analysis and design of a turbine engines for aerospace, marine, and industrial applications, to structural analysis and design for aircraft (winglets, landing gears, fuselages, etc.), to analysis and design for space applications (launch vehicles, satellites, and spacecraft), to analysis and prediction of composite and metal structural member failure mechanisms, to name just a few.
Lastly, the need to improve major systems acquisition cycle is recognized throughout Government and industry. In addition to our physics-based integrated engineering design and analysis tools, Advatech has the skills and Product Life-Cycle Management (PLM) processes and software tools to capture all the development information (e.g. the products DNA) throughout a products life cycle, from concept initiation through eventual disposal. This information can be reused to significantly reduce the time and cost for product improvements or new product development. Advatech has established a strategic relationship with the leading PLM software tool provider to become a principal provider of PLM services.
