About this user
Since the start of 2010 Adam Kidd has been hitting the live circuit hard with his band, sharp-suited and toting an arsenal of finely-honed material, backed by an energetic live show that pulls no punches. Earlier this year the band escaped to a secluded spot in rural Sussex (Oscillate Recordings) to to cut the 12 tracks of their début album. They are currently in the final stages of mixing the beast and are starting the process of searching for the right platform to release it from.During their long gestation from side-project to main stage Adam Kidd Band have become well known for rabble-rousing live shows, a set of confident and catchy songs and an eclectic and a punchy style encompassing latin, reggae and indie-rock. Akin to no one, but cut from the same cloth as innovators like Radiohead, Blur, The Clash or Elvis Costello; the band's musical ethic touts floor-stomping riffs, big drums, intricate melodies, powerful themes and Kidd's twilight lead vocal - half-Albarn, half-Strummer.

Adam Kidd has lived and breathed the Brighton music scene for over a decade and remains one of the City's most active proponents of original indie music. Adam, and his older brother Ben, were inspired by their father Jerry Kidd's role in cult 80's group Red Guitars. They both began playing in their first local bands as teenagers in the 90's and, having caught the musical bug badly, have continued to play roles in various groups ever since (rift, Dr. Pussy, Pornography, Thomas White's 'Choirbolical', Tractor Countdown, Xam Xam etc.) settling into working together with their current singer/guitarist and drummer roles in alternative rock 3-piece Kiyomori .
By 2007 Adam began playing solo acoustic sets with a mellower batch of tracks that didn't fit with the abrasive-tech rock of Kiyomori. This batch of songs proved popular and over the next year or two Adam played many low-key sets accompanied by various combinations of collaborators before finally arriving at the perfect set of players for his solo band: Aaron Neville - keys/backing vocals; Tom Alty - lead guitar; Ian Dell - bass/percussion/backing vocals; and of course Ben Kidd on the drums. This finalised line-up played their first show together on New Years Eve 2009 and, somewhat lazily, named themselves Adam Kidd Band!
Ian Dell is currently taking a break to work on his own material. The band are pleased to announce Gambian multi-instrumentalist Ousman Beyai will be filling in bass duties during his absence.
