About Me:
2D Shoot-em-ups are what I play most, with the Gradius series leading the way, followed by Thunder Force and R-Type. My interest for 2D Shoot-em-ups is so big that it spawned my first fangame, Unofficial Salamander 3, which I have a video up for in my channel, and it will spawn a second fangame: the sequel to Unofficial Salamander 3, named Gradius: The Dark Armada. Production for that game has now begun. It'll be a MUCH more elaborate game than Unofficial Salamander 3, and it'll also have a little hint of Contra(absolutely AWESOME Run-and-Gun Shooter).
Before getting into the 2D Shoot-em-ups, I used to be a racing simulation buff, getting any driving simulations I can find, with the 2 notable series being Codemasters' Race Driver and Colin McRae Rally series.
Recently, I was introduced to the lightning-fast and frantic 3D Rail Shooter series After Burner. First game I played in the series was Climax, and I was instantly hooked. Since then, I've been looking all over the place for the many different After Burner games around.
Sonic 2 was the game that introduced me to Sonic the Hedgehog, and I was instantly hooked to the series. It completely changed the way I see Platformers. Used to be that I played the Mario games quite a bit, but when I popped Sonic 2 into my MegaDrive, that was the end of my days playing the Mario games. Now, I find them(and other similar Platformers) to be really slow and kinda tedious.
I love messing around with video game hardware, to the point I've started to modify some of my consoles. I have currently modified the following consoles: MegaDrive(region switches, S-Video, overclocking, brand new sound circuits for the MegaDrive 2 and late MegaDrive 1, as most of them have LOADS of static in their sound output), Master System(S-Video, NTSC/PAL TV mode, and soon, FM Synthesis like in Japan), Top-Loader NES(cleaner RF with less visible noise, still hesitant on a full-fledged Composite A/V mod), Super NES Mini(power light and S-Video), Sega Saturn(region switch), TurboGrafx 16(region switch to play PC Engine games), console clones(I modified my FC Twin with S-Video for the Super NES side and fitted a lockout chip from a Super NES cartridge for full Nintendo SA-1 cartridge compatibility), portables(work-in-progress backlight mod on my spare GameBoy "Brick" and frontlight on my original-model GameBoy Advance), and get this: even accessories(one of my 2 Super GameBoys has been underclocked and modded with a power LED - will soon get a Link port added with a Link LED like the Super GameBoy 2). I just love to poke around the hardware figuring out what everything does and the possible modifications to improve the hardware.
