Both a former Muslim and former Atheist, who is currently considering converting to Catholicism or Orthodoxy. In case you are wondering where I stand at present, I will say I believe in all that which the Catholic and Orthodox churches agree upon. Feel free to ask me any questions. Also, I am currently a member of TruthAfterKnowledge, a group which debates with UPKer Black Hebrew Israelites. So the topics I am interested in, and more than willing to discuss, are the following:

(1) Atheism vs Theism

(2) Islam vs Christianity

(3) Protestantism vs Catholicism/Orthodoxy

(4) UPKer doctrines vs mainstream Christianity.

VIDEOMAN, hate can be metaphorical. That's why I compared Luke 14:26 with Matthew 10:37, showing how hatred is actually relative gradations of love. The hatred of Esau was metaphorical for the lower position he would have vis a vis his brother (hence verse 12 preceding and leading into verse 13). Please reconsider my appeal to Matthew 5:43-48. If you deny that God loves all things He has made, then you're misreading the Scriptures. If God literally hated something, He wouldn't have created it.
The Hebrew name יהושע (Y'hoshu`a) later took on the hypocoristic form ישוע (Y'shoo`a) (cf. Nehemiah 8:17), which, when transliterated into Greek, became Ιησους (Iesous). The Latin was Iesus, and later forms of Ecclesiastical Latin had the initial "I" take on a new orthographical form, giving rise to the "J" (which is pronounced differently in different languages). That is the origin of "Jesus".
Again, I'm one of the critics of your church, but must here admit that this is a beautiful and impressively argued series. The implications of John 19:26-27 will go over the heads of many, and some of your rivals might accuse you of engaging in wild and private interpretation with that one, but the truth is that is the ancient understanding. As far back as the fourth century, Hilary of Poitiers said John 19:26-27 proves Mary didn't have any other children.
Salaam yaa HEDONIYA! I assume there had to be some intermarrying. Whatever the case, a century before the advent of Islam there was a flurry of conversion to Judaism on the Jazeera, particularly in what is now Yemen. Some of these conversions were even forced. You can read up on Yoosuf Dhu Nuwaas, himself an Arab convert to Judaism, who forcibly converted a number of Christians in the city of Najraan in the early 6th century, which provoked an invasion from Ethiopia.
BANDOOGIEMANZ (and also TONE2223), the ICGJC has recently put up several videos defending the Virginity of Mary. First see the video titled 'ICGJC: The Truth is HERE! Not at "GMS" or anywhere else!' on the tellthetruthforonce account. Then see the series of videos under the titles 'The Holy Conception Proven!' and 'Jesus Christ: The Only Begotten of God, through Mary' on the timetotellvideos account. I often disagree with the ICGJC, but I find those videos to be very interesting.

like for example when GMS says that gentiles can be saved and that Jesus was preaching to the Israelites, ive read the discussions on yahoo but Truth should address this

Mark 16:15-And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

preach the gospel to every creature

in greek creature means creation
and every means all

K1LLWATER, I agree that polygamy was allowed in the Old Testament (so too easy divorce). But my reading is that the post-resurrection Church was moving towards monogamy (with the ideal model being the first couple: Adam and Eve). It is interesting that the rule of monogamy for those with authority in the Church can be read as a new law providing an example of when a law in the OT might be trumped. Therefore, it is not a surprise to me that the Church soon after instituted monogamy and prohibited polygamy.

How do u respond to the following scriptures:

Deuteronomy 21:15 If a man has TWO wives, and he loves one but not the other, and both bear him sons.....

Exd 21:10 If he take him another [wife]; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish.

Here we see the law allows a man to marry more than one wife and even gives instructions on the matter. Not to mention many righteous men had multiple wives/concubines (the patriarchs, david, solomon ect)

You bring up 1Tim 3:2 and 3:12 however, these verses do not prohibit the general public from practicing polygamy. In fact it seems to prove the point that polygamy was ordinary among the general population and Paul here only prohibits the religious leaders; so that perhaps they can have better time and dedication for the church.

K1LLWATER, generally I would frown on polygamy (especially in a situation where such is not necessary). In the post resurrection Church, why should that woman have to share a husband with another woman? Surely there is another man out there for her to marry, so that she can have her own husband (1 Cor 7:2). Perhaps it would be better that she remain unmarried (1 Cor 7:8), being sort of spiritual "eunuch" for the sake of the faith (Matt 19:12). Furthermore, if this hypothetical man (John) has a position of authority in the Church (e.g. he is a deacon, presbyter or bishop) then he certainly should not take this woman on as a second wife (cf. 1 Tim 3:2, 1 Tim 3:12, Titus 1:6).
