My name is Ya'qub, I'm Australian and I became a Muslim in Jan 2007.
Abu Hurayra reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "A believer is the mirror of his brother. A believer is the brother of another believer. He protects him against loss and defends him behind his back."
It is reported in Tirmidhi that the Prophet of Allah, sallahu alahi wa sallam (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah will not give mercy to anyone, except those who give mercy to other creatures."
The Prophet (sallahu alaihi wa sallam) said, "Surely in the breasts of humanity there is a lump of flesh, if sound then the whole body is sound, and if corrupt then the whole body is corrupt. Is it not the heart??"
He, sallahu alaihi wa sallam, also said: "You will not enter paradise until you have faith; and you will not complete your faith till you love one another."
And, "Kindness is a mark of faith, and whoever is not kind has no faith."
Sheikh Al-Hasan Al-Basri, one of our eminent pious predecessors, once said,
"Humility is to leave your home and not to meet ANY Muslim except that you believe him to be better than you." (In other words, true humility is to believe that everyone is better than oneself.) According to Sheikh Abdul-Karim, this includes non-Muslims as well, since they have the possibility of embracing Islam while we have the possibility of turning apostate before we die (May Allah protect us).
