I am an accounting major with a solution to our "you stole our land" problem lol. Since we purchased the land from the Mexicans they should have the right to buy it back! The land alone without all of the improvements we have made(roads, buildings, reservoirs etc) was sold to them for 21,000,000 in the 1850s. If u add inflation that amount would be 600 million dollars today. So we add all of the improvements we have made like buildings, roads, other things etc and we add inflation to our historical cost....... Because that is what u do when u increase the value of an asset !!!! Then if mexico wants to and can buy it sure let them!

This would be absolutely impossible though! If we add all of these things together it would easily add up to several trillion dollars lol!!!! Mexico couldn't afford it! Hey it's called business u sold it and u want to buy it back go right ahead! This is only basic accounting lol! Apparently some don't understand it!

After discussing this mixed language phenomena with some media directors I think I know why the TV News will not translate LA RAZA into English.

Apparently, it's in the National Council of La Raza Charter that they be referred to as "National Council of La Raza" only. Admittedly, it is a strange thing to state the name of a group in two different languages at the same time and this appears to be done only when referring to La Raza. (aka The Race.)

Also, as I deal with newsroom staffs daily I have found that less than 30% of them even know what La Raza means in English. They agree that most Americans don't know whjat La Raza means in English yet refuse to translate it into English for that purpose.

They often insist it is the only proper way to refer to this particular group during a newscast.
