My son's graduation was the day before and we had his reception on May 22. Lots of relatives were to come from Springfield, MO through the U.S. 71/I-44 interchange (which also got hit hard)...

Call this "What the Joplin May 22 tornadic storm looked like just after it dropped its last tornado"...the Joplin tornado lifted near Diamond, MO after being an F5 at one point. My Mom brought me here first (I remember her playing this and other JM songs not long after her beloved husband/my beloved Dad died). Then "Goodfellas" reminded me of it.  Great song, along with "When sunny gets blue".

There's a sweet back story to this. Norman Lloyd, who played "Henry" is 98 and just lost his wife in 2011. They were married 75 years - their marriage was said to have been one of if not the longest ever in Hollywood.

This tornado looks like the mythical "medusa" with the accompanying horizontal vortices appearing as snakes on its head. In fact, more than one of the twisters in the 2011 Alabama outbreak (particularly the Tuscaloosa one) had this phenomenon.
