Sign of contradiction is a term in Christian theology which refers to certain persons who, upon manifesting holiness, are subject to extreme opposition. The term is from the biblical phrase "sign that is spoken against" found in Luke 2:34 and in Acts 28:22, which refer to Jesus Christ and the early Christians. From the Latin contra, "against" and dicere, "to speak."

The Catholic Church continues to be a sign of contradiction to all other false churches and especially what is best described today as Moralistic Therapeutic Deism:
1. A god exists who created and ordered the world and watches over human life on earth.
2. God wants people to be good, nice, and fair to each other, as taught in the Bible and by most world religions.
3. The central goal of life is to be happy and to feel good about oneself.
4. God does not need to be particularly involved in one's life except when God is needed to resolve a problem.
5. Good people go to heaven when they die.

The antidote to this false, pernicious and widespread position is entering the True Ark of Christ: His Holy Catholic Church.

I am a loyal son of the True Church of Jesus Christ: the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, founded by Christ on St Peter and his successors, the validly elected popes. This Church is the ONLY Church founded by Christ. All others are man-made deviations inspired by Satan, the arch-enemy of Christ, His Holy Bride and all His Catholic faithful. The Church is Holy, its members are not. We are sinners who require Grace to respond to God and the world in a spirit of virtue. These Graces coming via the sacraments, especially the Holy Eucharist, Christ True Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity (Jn 6). Like Jesus, we honour and venerate His Most Holy Mother, and ours, Mary Most Holy. I take the last words recorded by Mary in John's Gospel as a command: "Do whatever He tells you" (Jn 2). Jesus continues to instruct us through the legitimate teachings of His true Church. With the Church I honour all the saints who have responded to the call of God throughout the last 2000 years. I pray that they may intercede on our behalf, especially in the last hour of our lives.

I have a preferential love for the Extraordinary Form of the Mass. In the Extraordinary Form, Mass is celebrated according to the Missale Romanum of 1570. While this Missal was codified at the Council of Trent, it was in use at least since the time of St. Gregory the Great. It is used today according to the 1962 edition, promulgated by Blessed Pope John XXIII during the Second Vatican Council. In accordance with norms of Summorum Pontificum, all Roman Rite clergy may celebrate according to the Extraordinary Form.

I have a particular devotion to St Theresa of Lisieux, Padre Pio, St John of the Cross, St Teresa of Avila, St Gemma Galgani, St Boniface, St John Marie Vianney, St Cathrine of Sienna and the writings of the early Church Fathers, especially St John Chrysostom. I am particularly interested in the writings of the Catholic mystics.
