The ASME Mechanisms and Robotics Committee operates under the auspices of the ASME Design Engineering Division. The purpose of the Mechanisms and robotics Committee is to promote advances in research and education in the theory, design and application of mechanisms and machine systems. Specific areas of include: kinematics and dynamics of planar and spatial mechanisms, robotic system analysis and design, computer coordinated mechanism, mechanism design, cam design, gear design, mechanical drives, power transmission, machine tools, machine control, rotating machinery, continuously variable transmission; bio-mechanisms, mechatronics, micro-machines, nano-machines.
