In the Backpocket studios in Melbourne recording this album we were graced with Jo's fabulous voice; also Julieanne Jessup and Helen Stephenson - they sing gorgeous soul b.vox with Jo on "The Gates of Heaven" (it's also on YT).
Oh dear, apparently Australia now "goes with Tony Abbott: it's just a load of crap" - we've just elected him Prime Minister. So it looks like we'll be playing this song for a while yet!
Yes, of course solar activity CAN affect atmos temp. But as to the CURRENT steep warming 1970s-present, solar activity has NOT increased during this time - if it had, UPPER atmos temp would also have risen - it hasn't. But human greenhouse emission HAS gone up. So solar activity is NOT the cause of the current rise - our output is.
Hi Cades, nice to see you at Sydneyvision last night - very much enjoyed your song, gave it a Peoples Choice vote. Ours "Beached" didn't win either but they were all good! You might enjoy our "Retromania" (search on YT for it) - includes 43 names of 80s songs/acts. Not as good as your vid, just photomontage but it'll give you a chuckle.
Say I have heart flutters and I go to 30 heart specialists, and 29 of them tell me I need to change my diet and cut the fast food or risk heavy consequences. Do I do that, and even if they're all wrong I end up with a more sustainable diet... or do I go with the one who disagrees and dismiss the other 29 as part of an elaborate con to undermine fast food? And risk the very nasty consequences of that specialist being wrong? We may not all be scientists, but hey, we can use our brains.
I think for most blokes the problem is thickness of head rather than fingers.
That pretty much sums up how little most people understand about global warming. The warming of lower atmos doesn't make everything warmer, it changes weather patterns, tends to more extreme events - including hotter summers and colder winters. We need to better inform ourselves - quickly, because there are people with lots of clout wanting to keep us in the dark so they can go on making bucks at the expense of our sustainable future.

Check the evidence. Much very good research assessed in Sydney Morning Herald feature Jan 15 2013 "Tougher laws, guns buyback on target" (search for it) found "the Australian gun buyback continues to save about 200 lives per year. That means thousands of people are walking the streets today who would not be alive without the National Firearms Agreement." Check the sources cited and discuss on the basis of evidence which is independent, not (ahem) loaded.
See our song "Denial Tango" on YT. No more from me on this page, I think I've said enough and will leave it to others. Cheers!
