Cruise was born into the Whiskers mob on the 6th of September, 2004. Her parents were Flower and Zaphod. She and her three litter-mates were the first litter to be featured on Meerkat Manor (in the first episode, 'A Family Affair'). Her siblings were Hawkeye (Rocky), Logan (Einstein) and Mitch. Each of the pups had distinguishable personalities; Cruise, in particular, had a tendency to pester adults mercilessly for food. Unfortunately, all of the litter, excluding Mitch, had small roles on the show and were seldom mentioned.
Cruise didn't really make her mark until the second season of Meerkat Manor. She played pregnant Mozart in a few of the final episodes, most notably during the scene where she repeatedly attacked and evicted Daisy (played by Armanita Ditch) in the episode 'Balance of Power'. Cruise wasn't even two years old yet, and her sister was many months older than her, making the occurrence quite a surprise for everyone. Even mother Flower seemed taken aback by the action, as she failed to punish Cruise for her insubordination. Armanita Ditch was isolated for a week... Until Flower allowed her to return. Cruise was then finally punished via eviction by Flower, though managed to rejoin some time later.
In October 2007, Rocket Dog became the dominant female, following the tragic death of Flower. Rocket Dog evicted several females, including Cruise. She disappeared in November 2007. However, Cruise and three other Whisker females; Hawkeye, Petra (from Meerkat Manor season 1) and Cheetara (Shelly from season 2) reappeared the next month. They had teamed up with three wild males to form a new group, named the Baobab. All of the females, aside from Hawkeye, lost their litters. Being the only successful mother, Hawkeye took dominance. But her place as boss wasn't secure.
Cruise was determined to take the role of leader and defiantly fell pregnant. In April, 2008, both she and Hawkeye gave birth. Two of the eight pups born survived, three of which were mothered by Cruise. In July 2008, Hawkeye aborted her litter. Cruise took the chance to overthrow her sister and claimed leadership. She was quick to produce a large litter of five. Though, after only two months, Hawkeye took back dominance. In spite of returning to a subordinate role, Cruise continued to have surviving pups. Hawkeye and other females of the Baobab also had litters, but the majority of them didn't make it.
In November 2009, the group split and Cruise created a new gang, called the Urukhai. She easily assumed dominance. But the group rejoined the main party in less than a month, and Cruise once again took a subordinate position under Hawkeye. Sadly, in April 2010, Hawkeye died to unknown reasons. Cruise reclaimed her place as dominant female of the Baobab. Since then, she has been conceiving large litters and, with a wild male (Al Capone) by her side, Cruise is still running the Baobab with an iron paw.

There aren't many clips of Cruise, so this video is rather lacking in effects and length.. It was rushed and is certainly not one of my favourite video-pieces. But, I want Cruise to be acklowledged for the true, amazing leader she is. The music for this comes from a sweet documentary I watched during the school holidays some time back. The song is called 'The Harshest Place on Earth' and was featured in the brilliant film 'March of the Penguins'.
Personally, I think the best part in this tribute is the transformation of young, cute Cruise into the beautiful, adult Cruise. c:

Many fans took a disliking to Cruise for evicting her older sister. In truth, her actions were initially showing great potential of a future dominant female. And look what happened; after years of struggles, Cruise has made it took the top-spot. And she continues to lead that group today. Best of luck to you Cruise, long live the Baobab ruler. ♥
