ARTFX STUDIOS presents: Ableton Tutorial Tuesday season 2 about the genre Glitch Hop! In this season we will go through making a track from start to end in the funky and edgy genre made big by artists such as Koan Sound and Culprate.

It's been a hell of a ride, but this Tutorial Tuesday season about Glitchhop is coming to an end! With only two videos left I guess you all know what the two subjects will be, right: mixdowns and mastering. This week is the first of a two-hour special session on how I do my mixdowns and mastering, next week will be the second part.

I wanted these two videos to be the most complete guide for electronic music producers when it comes to mixdowns and mastering, making them much more complete than the two videos about these subjects from Tutorial Tuesday season 1 about Electro House. Not only has my workflow changed during the past year, I also learned a lot of new stuff regarding these skills so I've got a lot more to say now.

This video will take you through the entire process of mixing the track I created during this season, which means I'll handle compression techniques, EQ and panning tips, stereo widening, saturation and a lot more. Never have I spend so much attention to putting as much information about a subject in one video, so be prepared to take some notes along the way.

A good mix is balanced, has a solid bass response and is equally perceived on multiple sound systems. This might be hard at first but the only way to become good at it is by putting a lot of time and effort in it. Don't expect immediate pro-level results, Rome wasn't build in a day and the pro mixing engineers took years of hard study and practice to get to their level of skill. A good track can be enhanced with subtle changes during the mixdown phase, any big changes should be done during the production phase.
