In Geertz's essay, "Thick Description: Toward an Interpretive Theory of Culture", (Geertz 1973:3-30) he explains that he adopted the term from philosopher Gilbert Ryle. Ryle pointed out that if someone winks at us without a context, we don't know what it means. It might mean the person is attracted to us, that they are trying to communicate secretly, that they understand what you mean, or anything. As the context changes, the meaning of the wink changes.

I enjoy teaching other people, and helping them understand all that I already do understand. I also find it very useful to teach people about what I don't fully know, because that helps me analyze and understand it better.
I am very good at analyzing other people's work and understanding its general concepts very fast. This means that I can do productive work substituting someone else faster than the average person of my same level of knowledge and expertise.
I have a very inventive and original mind. Most of what I know best, I've learnt by myself by analyzing other people's work or by deducing it myself, as opposed to learning it through literature or from other people. This was very apparent through College. I would always take my notes ahead of the explanations of the teacher. This made the notes very messy (I'm not that good) but it also allowed me to understand better.
I am good natured. It's not common for me to have conflicts with other people.
Main personal weaknesses:
I have a handicap for extracting useful information from literature. Ranging from very mild for fields I excel on, to severe for fields I have no experience on.
I can be a bit lazy at times. Although this is not severe, and willingly kept at bay.
I have a definite problem with keeping long-term social relationships with people.
