Official videoclips - APP
Official videoclips by The Alan Parsons Project.
Best versions on YouTube.
Missing in this list is Pyramania (unpublished, although shown at the yearly USA fan fest).
Official videoclips - AP, EW, Keats
Official videoclips by "solo" AP, Eric Woolfson and Keats. In discography order.
Keats were APP regulars Ian Bairnson, David Paton, Stuart Elliott, Colin Blunstone and Richard Cottle plus Camel keyboardist Pete Bardens; the album Keats was produced by Alan and ideated by Eric (so that other APP members could write material).
Freudiana started as the 11th APP album: written by Eric Woolfson it was produced by Alan Parsons and involved all Project regulars; it was also developed into a theatrical musical; missing in this list is the very rare video of "Don't Let the Moment Pass".
Alan Parsons "solo" (without the word "Project") didn't involve Eric, but featured on most albums various Project regulars. Note: the complete "Fall Free" video is published on an official compilation (though the lipsync to another singer); we also include the short version published previously on the On Air CD-ROM when the live footage was still not available.
The Eric Woolfson song "Immortal" is from his CD and musical "Poe".
Best live
Best videos of live appearances by The Alan Parsons Project and its members. (This list includes only performances of APP music).
--- APP ---
NOTP1990 APP LIVE "AP 1st concert ever": Night of the Proms (Antwerp), the only time APP appeared with original name, formation and roles (as on "Stereotomy/Gaudì") (Powell at orchestra; Alan at mixer except last song; Eric present behind scenes since he felt himself as writer more than perfomer; anyway involved as manager).
Note: After 1990, because of the split with Eric, Alan didn't use anymore the name "Alan Parsons Project", but "Alan Parsons (band)" or "Alan Parsons Live Project".
--- AP until 2000 (with Project regulars) ---
WORLD LIBERTY CONCERT (95): multiartistical AP-directed event ("Try Anything Once" formation; the 1st video features "White Dawn", published as single only).
AP LIVE IN CHILE (95) (aired in TV).
NOTP97 "On Air tour" (after "The Time Machine" Alan changes to USA collaborators).
NOTP99: La Sagrada Familia with John Miles (as in other Proms performances) and exceptionally Alan and Ian as on record
Munich 99: Games People Play - AP live with Tony Hadley and Ringo Starr.
--- AP after 2000 (no Project regulars) ---
Awdar: AP live with DAVID PACK from the "A Walk Down Abbey Road" tour 2001.
APLP04-09 (Alan begins to perform lead vocals).
NOTP09 (Alan does dedications to Eric).
APLP10 - THE TURN OF A FRIENDLY CARD SUITE (which Alan introduces since requested by fans for the Essential APP compilation; the band is changing to West Coast musicians again for logistical reasons) and ALL OUR YESTERDAYS (first case of AP single live-performed before publishing).
--- APP VOCALISTS/MUSICIANS ---
LENNY ZAKATEK "VOCAL84" Spain TV program (3 videos, the 1st is in playback, with interview).
LENNY ZAKATEK CURRENT "BEST OF APP" TOUR (5 videos).

JOHN MONTAGNA "Limelight" tribute to Eric.
Eric Woolfson: piano, musicals
Eric Woolfson, the APP main songwriter: rare piano footage, theatrical musicals.
The 1st video of the playlist, with Eric playing on piano a medley of APP songs, is one of his last gifts to us fans - it was recorded two months before he passed away. Two identical versions exists, both included since fans commented on both.
The musicals appear in discography order.
Specials, interviews, news
Various official spoken material about The Alan Parsons Project - and its members. In cronological order.
See also the playlist "Eric Woolfson: piano, musicals".
NOTES:
Rare young Alan appearances in the Beatles videos at beginning:
- 1st video (update: this video is now removed): 0:22;
- 2nd video: 2:04 (man on left) and 1:23 (face in background at right);
- 3rd video: 8:16 (man passing briefly in background) (to be confirmed).
The Philips commercial launching the CD includes a rare doc of E&A in studio (on Stereotomy) and an ad-hoc partial Mammagamma video (with EitS-theme references).
In the Clare Torry interview she talks about Dark Side of the Moon and Alan.
Cinema and TV connections
The Alan Parsons Project connections with movies and TV. Ladyhawke and more.
LADYHAWKE: see Side Discography in Profile.
STOCK84: brandy commercials, for which The Gold Bug was chosen at last moment; hence it's an incredible coincidence that the 3 spots feature respectively a man with a robot (spot here missing), pyramidal buildings in an orwellian future, and a problematic love story (special vinilys were printed with photos of the spots).
CHICAGO BULLS basket USA team: CG introductions using Sirius.
THE SIMPSONS in episode "Homerpalooza" (3F21) quote APP (unfortunately it's on YouTube only in Spanish).
AUSTIN POWERS trilogy: APP quotations in 2nd movie ("The Spy Who Shagged Me") together with Pink Floyd and Star Wars (and 1st movie: the King of Diamonds, plus the "AP" initials on the airplane's tail - not included here, and the year of time travel which is 69 as beginning of AP career).
'77: see Movies in Profile.
Fan videoclips: best
Some best fan videoclips for music by The Alan Parsons Project and its members. Given the unique cinematic and multiple-interpretation character of APP (whose concept was originally inspired by great directors like Kubrick), it's interesting to watch the images seen by different fans.
From standard to digital animation, from elaboration of official material to sculpture & live action, from photography to use of historical footage, see the Project cinematics come to life with many different creative techniques.
Covers: APP tribute bands
The best covers by the Alan Parsons Project tribute bands - around the world. (We also include bands which perform also other music, but which have APP music as a big part of the repertoire). In addition to contribute to maintain alive APP music, these bands show sometimes "original" contributions like songs which AP never performed live, and multimedia elements.
--INTERNET BANDS--
THE RAVENS are 3 Spanish-language fans (two from Spain, one from Argentina) which met on web while participating separately in the Official APP Cover Song Competition. Faithful in all details, exceptional guitar and vocals tracks!
--GERMANY--
THE L.N. PAR $ON$ LIVE PROJECT, professional band of 8 members (including 2 el. guitarists and 3 vocalists, of which one sometimes plays acoustic guitar) plus a narrator and two set designers. Their biggest gig was an open air (1000 in audience!) in a middle-age castle performing almost all the "Friendly Card" album.
--ITALY-- has/had much activity, first of all two currently active bands, both very faithful.
NEVERMORE PROJECT (with YouTube channel named APPcover) is a professional Rome-based band which, born from two Pink Floyd cover bands, features 6 members (plus guests).
EYE ROBOT is a small band which, being intercity, gathers once for year.
THE PROJECT BAND (a dozen of members!) was an amateur entity which played at "Parsons Days" fan meetings (no videos on YT) .
--TURKEY--
TWILIGHT, THE TURKISH TRIBUTE BAND (1989), a band performing also Pink Floyd and its own material (see videos posted by fazil69).
--USA--
PROJECTRONICS: an amateur band performing at the yearly Fan Fest.
RUBBER UNIVERSE: a professional band formed by some Projectronic members. In a reduced formation RU recorded an amateur APP cover (Secret Garden), but in full formation it maked a more professional album called "Parliament of Fools" of original music but done partially in APP style and with as guests Ian Bairnson, Godfrey Townsend and Eric Woolfson (narrator on the track "Let Me Rule Your Heart"). In summer/fall 2008 RU played several dates (no footage available) with, as most of the set, APP and Pink Floyd, plus three songs from "Parliament of Fools". RU is now replaced by NIGHT MUSIC OBSERVATORY (no videos on YouTube), with a slight change in formation and a new original album, although with few APP songs in their gigs.
--ARGENTINA--
1PUNTO0, existing around 2000, had a huge repertoire. The band received compliments from both Eric and Alan. The band had a brief restart in 2007-8 with some changes and name RAVEN PROJECT or ALAN PARSONS TRIBUTE PROJECT, but did only rehearsals.
THE X FILES (videos posted by user fernandodiplacido) is particular since it covers only instrumentals.
