In today's repetitious Rock world, it's refreshing when an artist comes along with a truly engaging and entertaining sound that can grasp the listener's attention and leave a mark that is not soon forgotten. As you listen to an album and accurately experience the passion the artist felt, you carry that connection and share it with everyone around you. This is definitely the case with Jacksonville's Allele (pronounced Uh-Leel) as the Florida 5 piece has been tearing up stages across the US alongside major artists like Saliva, Chimaira, Tantric, Soil, Taproot, Adema, Yellowcard, Nonpoint, Staind, Sevendust, Earshot, Trapt, Shinedown, Socialburn, 12 Stones and Godhead, all along the way building an army of devoted followers.

Allele (pronounced Uh-Leel) is a hard rock band from Jacksonville, Florida, formed in 2002 by vocalist Wally Wood and guitarist Lane Maverick. They recruited Cold guitarist Kelly Hayes, who had previously dabbled with Allele on a side project basis and now looked to Allele as a fresh, new creative outlet. After the three joined with bassist Tim Tobin and drummer Giancarlo Autenzio, they discovered perfect harmony and released their debut album, Point of Origin in 2005.
Recorded at Cleveland's Spider Studios under Corporate Punishment Records and produced by Ben Schigel (Chimaira, Drowning Pool, Breaking Point, Bleed the Sky, Rikets) singer for nu metal band Switched, Point of Origin became an album that showed the many sides of this complex ensemble, and assuredly guaranteed them a spot in the hearts and CD collections of Rock fans and on radio playlists for years to come.

Singer Wood put it best when he said, "I want Allele to be in every single person's musical vocabulary. We have a message of unity we want to share with everyone. We'd be happy just to pack clubs. I humbly think that we won't become an icon thing. That's rare. That's when music was to be innovated and you can no longer innovate because it's all been done. I think the time of being an icon is over. Obviously, I would love to get to a point where our band could headline arenas, who wouldn't? But that is such a huge goal. I would be happy headlining a 500 person venue, six days a week. That would be the greatest thing to us. If God had a sense of humor, and we were selling out arenas, I wouldn't even know what to say."

The band rapidly progressed towards those goals and the Allele Army grew exponentially with their first single and video for "Closer to Habit" that became a staple on Active Rock radio and steadily beginning an assault on the airwaves, and a rigorous tour schedule taking them through 2005, with clubs, not arenas at the top of the list. In 2006, Allele contributed "Stitches" to the THQ video game WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 and was featured in trailers and promos for TNT's Stephen King anthology series, "Nightmares and Dreamscapes".

After refining their sound and gaining live experience by touring across the country, they took a hiatus from the stage but the writing never stopped. The band reformed with rhythm guitarist Mason Romaine, replacing Lane and made their first major appearance back on stage at Savagefest 2010 with artists Chimaira, Tantric, Soil, Taproot, Adema and others.

In May 2011, they tracked the music at A1A studios in Jacksonville, Fl. Wally Wood then flew to Laguna, Ca to then track the vocals with engineer Pete Charell (bassist for TRAPT) at Dexter Dog Studios and since are having their sophomore album Next to Parallel, mixed and mastered at MyPlatinumSound by Paul Lapinski (Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Alicia Keys, Evergreen Terrace, Inspection 12, Yellowcard, Indorphine). The beauty of Next to Parallel is that they have had complete creative control perfecting a sound that they can truly call their own. The Allele Army remains truly loyal as they anticipate this compelling new album to be released this summer, 2011.
