@Fordi if you take a piece of wood out of a fire, it also will not keep on burning, yet if you leave it in there, it will burn to ashes...combustion doesn't have to be self-sustaining...zirconium burns just as well as magnesium or aluminium (given the right conditions)...

@Iggy82xl never mind the smaller range of the TOW, the Bradley has to stop and stand still to fire it... also, the A2 and A3 versions can't swim because they're simply too heavy...

@franknbeans4761 however, for a 25mm (or 30mm for the "new" variants), even 300m is still close...the coaxial MG can't kill anything hiding behind, say, a good old 5cm concrete wall, the main gun will blast through with the first shot...the MG will just piss the enemy off...

@scottykilmer not to mention the not so small fortune they'll cost when something breaks...and on top of that, not many mechanics know how to fix them...other than that, it's real nice to drive...

@100roberthenry the pickup coil needs a magnetic field to work...the driver coil will do fine with soft iron/steel...

There's no point in using ferrite unless you understand it's magnetic properties, iron/steel will do just fine...

Works exactly the same like when you get feedback through a microphone from a speaker, except here it's done deliberately and since the string will only vibrate on certain frequencies, it will sustain the note instead of producing that annoying squealing sound...

The tanks should be weighted before and after to make sure there isn't too much propane... overfilling could be bad once the tank gets hot...

@vulgenrathman Steam. Not water...there's a difference...steam cleans the worst crud out quickly, then you could use cheap or filtered used motor oil to flush out the crap+protect the parts from oxygen, then drain the rest & put fresh good oil in...

@chatterBln of course it works, but I'd be a bit more reserved to the "well" part...the non-integer division is probably a major contributor to the fuzziness of the picture, it would be very interesting to see the difference with integer division and a digital picture signal...
