Having spent all of his life growing up outdoors on his family farm in rural South Dakota, at age 12, Austin Schmidt got a guitar, and started teaching himself to play it. Initially, he began to learn simple chords, and started to play easy songs. It didn't take long for it to become one of his favorite past times and passions, occupying many hours practicing and playing around. Although, he never much liked learning someone else's tunes, but making up his own compositions. At the age of 17, Austin began to write, record, and produce his own album entitled "Plain As Day." Austin combines many different styles in his playing arsenal, playing blues to metal, and everything in between. He spends a great deal of his time composing songs for his upcoming album release, and performs weekly with his church praise band the "Hallelujah Hooligans." Austin has been and continues to play in numerous jam bands and projects including: Oxymoronic, Kitten Snot, Jimmy Wayne and the Hot dog Experience, Flushed Mediocrity, and more. He remains self-taught to this day, and is very honored and proud to be endorsed by Brit Picks.
