(AIM) Art In Motion Dance Company was Founded in 1997 by Broadway dancer and choreographer, Cyd Glover Hill. AIM is a 501 c3 non profit organization designed to provide a broad range of performing arts, educational, recreational and social activities that contribute to the cognitive, emotional, physical and spiritual development of every student.
Through a professional training facilility and dance company, AIM has touched the lives of more than 700 young people. Students and company members represent various cities throughout Los Angeles county.
Under the direction of the mother-daughter team of Elaine Glover and Cyd Glover Hill, who have owned and operated 3 performing arts studios.
AIM accomplishments include:
1. Providing more than 100 full/partial scholarships
2. Becoming first dance company, comprised of youth to be featured in the Kaleidoscope Dance Festival,recieving rave reviews from the Los Angeles Times and Dance Fitness Magazine
3. Producing more than 10 musical productions, with as many as 1200 attendees, including the successful "Shout All you people" at the Wilshire Ebell
4. Company members and dance students have gone on to dance at the Alvin Ailey School of Dance, Fordham University, UC Irvine, American Music Awards, Disney's Lion King, The Rockettes and the Laker girls.
AIM is committed to acquiring a 10,000 sq ft state of the art facility that would bring the same professional quality instruction and amenities found in the more affluent neighborhoods to minority communities. The facility is going to house at least 3 dance studios, music, voice and drama labs, office space, lounge, cafeteria, theater, prayer/meditation space, kids play area, boutique, conference rooms, computer resource center and dressing rooms. In addition, we would like to expand our community outreach efforts to include: an internship program, arts-in-education programs and productions of various community events; including the Carson/Greater South Bay International Arts Festival.
