@MiddletownDreamz If you ever studied Orthodoxy, you would understand that the "patriarchate of Ukraine" is illegitimate. It does not follow the rules of Orthodoxy and is therefore not part of the Body of Christ. Anyway, Jesus Christ said that one can pray anywhere, even near a statue of Lenin, w...

It doesn't matter what the people want. The fact is that the Ukrainian Church canonically belongs to the Russian Church until the Russian Church, with the whole Synod of Bishops (including the Ukrainian ones) decides that Ukraine should have its own Church. It is completely uncanonical to just le...

@ShadowNihon I don't know if you can pinpoint Christ's Birth so accurately, but yes, we know that the calculation done is incorrect, Christ was probably born in 4 BC. How do you get that He was crucified on a Wednesday? Easter started as a pagan holiday, but like many pagan traditions and holiday...

@ShadowNihon We also pray for the dead without a belief in Purgatory. For the Jews, Gehena was the bad part of Hell while the good part (remember, before the Salvation of Christ, everyone went to Hell) was called the Bosom of Abraham. You would pray to God for a person's soul so that that person...

@ShadowNihon Well, Purgatory is not from the Early Church, it is actually a pretty late addition to Catholicism. Even later is your doctrine of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin, which we don't have, and also the Filioque, which the Orthodox Church calls a heresy. Other than that, there are...

@ShadowNihon I'm Orthodox and I disagree with this video too, but I don't agree with you either. Simply, Peter was the First among Equals, but he did not have authority over the other Apostles. And if he had, then why isn't the Patriarchate of Antioch the main one? Peter founded the Church of Ant...

@oneyouh8 Obviously this is not the place to debate religion and atheism, but to make a short point, isn't that argument similar to saying that since people in places ravaged by drought often fight over water, we should get rid of all bodies of water so that there would be no conflict? @patriotmk141 Yea. While the British, French and German Empires did fight inferior enemies (in terms of organization and armament, I mean), the Russians mostly fought equal enemies, so they were definitely an empire.

@ibrahimhakan Well thats just silly. It was in the early Renaissance but it fell behind. By the 18th Century, the Russian Empire, Austria and others were crushing the Ottoman Empire. The Ottoman Empire might have been the most destructive force to come to Europe since the Mongols.

Armenian & Greek Orthodox Monks Fight Jerusalem

I think this proves that the Church is still alive. Orthodoxy has a rich tradition of clerical fighting for Christ. St. Nicholas (the real Santa Claus) punched the heretic Arius in the face at the First Ecumenical Council.
