I love the 1980's. The movies were better , the music was better , the clothes were better , and the technology was better. I say "To hell with digital and hi definition!" I want wax records and anaolg! I hate the 90's and the 2000's.
I firmly believe that 99.9% of the so-called "singers" out there today can't sing their way out of a paper bag. The music industry today is all about making money. It doesn't concern itself with quality , nor does it honor creativity and individuality. I don't see any performers out there today who have the star quality and talent to be around 10 or 20 years from now.
With only a few exceptions , most of the TV shows today are crappy reality TV garbage. Please , end reality TV shows! Reality TV needs to go back to the Netherlands where it originated. Reality TV is like some kind of sociological experiment , it's not entertainment.

I also like classic horror films, not the cheesy remakes of today.
I like films from the 30's and 40's, as well as the 70's-80's.
I have to say, I am not much of a fan of today's movies. They are mostly remakes (and remakes rarely come anywhere near the quality of the original), and they have boring, insipid casts. I have disliked the most films from the 1990's onward.
I enjoy foreign films, they have the quality that most current american films lack.

80's soft rock , 80's pop , 80's new wave , 80's classic rock , 80's "hair metal" , 80's r&b , 80's soundtracks ,disco, 70's, jazz , big band/swing , concert music (Classical , Baroque , Romantic ,etc.) , Opera , etc.
Books:
"Hamlet" , "Memoirs of a Geisha" , "Julius Caesar" , "The Accidental Tourist" , many stories by Edgar Allan Poe ,Shakespeare, W. Somerset Maugham, D.H. Lawrence, etc.
