Magen David Adom personnel have been the lifeline for residents
of the western Negev through the past eight years which saw
over 8,000 Qassam rockets and mortars crashing into their
homes and communities. Each time, MDA personnel rushed to the scene from its network of
Stations that enable them to respond to danger within seconds. Most
of those Stations were built (Ashdod, Sderot) or modernized and
renovated (Beer Sheva, Kiryat Gat, Rehovot) by American Friends of
Magen David Adom.
The conflict in Gaza severely depleted MDAs resources, and with
rocket and mortar attacks continuing -- and a larger swath of Israel
than ever before within the range of Hamas attacks -- we absolutely
must replenish them immediately. MDA is Israels Second Line of Defense
and we are proud of AFMDAs continuing and essential role in providing the
