On the 18th December 2005 the aid concert for pakistani earthquake victims "Music for Pakistan" was held in a prestigious concert hall in the heart of Copenhagen.
The aid concert was arranged by three brothers, Aamer, Kashif and Asif Ahmad. The Ahmad brothers call for humanity became one of the most recognized humanitarian projects ever to be held in Denmark. The brothers did raise 1.1 million DDK from the aid concert where the cream artists of Denmark had performed and the brothers were joined by the Danish Crone Prince and Princess who had accepted the invitation of the brothers.
The brothers are founders of ABROS.DK which is a platform for people who wants to make a difference. In this regard the Ahmad brothers have become a symbol and an icon for making a difference in Denmark.
Through their platform the brothers have initiated several social beneficiary projects and campaigns and helped NGO´s, government institutions and individuals in carrying out their social beneficiary projects. The documentary "To make a difference" on the work and contribution of the Ahmad brothers did achieve the best news documentary 2005 award on the Danish national TV channel TV2. In 2008 the brothers did recieve a humanitarian award in Denmark for their social engagement. In 2009 the Pakistani government did nominate them for an award for their social and humanitarian work in Denmark and internationally through the Pakistani embassy in Denmark.
The brothers are highly engaged in solving society related challenges together with city mayors, governmental institutions and are also involved in giving lectures , organizing workshops and arranging cultural events.
Det er brødrene Ahmad - Aamer, Asif og Kashif der har taget initiativ til at stifte ildsjælenes platform ABROS.dk - "A" for Ahmad og "BROS" for brothers - "ABROS" - udtalt på engelsk.
Brødrene blev landskendte i 2005 da de arrangerede støttekoncerten "Musik For Pakistan" til fordel for jordskælvsofrene i Pakistan.
Brødrene samlede toppen af danske artister, virksomheder og individuelle ildsjæle til en vellykket støttekoncert afholdt den 18. december i Cirkusbygningen i hjertet af København.
Brødrene blev støttet af Kronprinsparret og deltog som æresgæster til koncerten. Brødrenes indsamling gav 1,1 millioner kr. til Dansk Røde Kors´ arbejde i det ramte område i Pakistan.
TV2 lavede efterfølgende en dokumentar "At gøre en forskel" om brødrenes arbejde der fik prisen for årets dokumentar på TV2 Nyhederne. Brødrene har efterfølgende været
initiativtagere for en række samfundsgavnlige projekter som du kan læse mere om i "Vores projekter" og har hjulpet organisationer, virksomheder og ildsjæle med at realisere deres projekter.
Brødrenes grundlæggende filosofi er, at man som individ gør en forskel og skal tro på det. I maj 2008 fik brødrene en humanitær pris i Danmark for deres drivkraft og sociale engagement både nationalt og internationalt.
I juni 2009 har den pakistanske ambassade i Danmark indstillet Ahmad brødrene til en pris fra den pakistanske regering for deres samfundsmæssige engagement i Danmark og internationalt.
