About this user

To establish and sustain the leading community organisation for Afghans in Australia that serves the wider interests of the Afghan community.

Some of our goals:

reinforcing a sense of community amongst Afghans
uniting Afghans within each community and with other communities throughout Australia and overseas
contributing to public debate on issues affecting our community or Afghanistan
building a positive image for Afghans in Australia and for Afghanistan at large
bridging the generation gap between Afghans born in Australia (post-war generation) and those born in Afghanistan
providing leadership and guidance for the youth, the disadvantaged, the elderly and the Afghan community at large
working with other welfare groups, organisations and individuals that are interested and active towards the welfare of Afghans in Australia
establishing essential services, i.e. welfare for the elderly/disabled, and contributing to the education of school students through mentoring, tuition and Dari & Pashto language classes
recognising and encouraging successful individuals (including students), groups and businesses and promoting them as role models for the Afghan community
engagement with government, industry, community organisations and the professions on behalf of the Afghan community
