About Me:

Adler Aphasia Center, a non-profit organization based in Maywood, N.J., is a post-rehabilitative therapeutic center that addresses the long-term needs of people with aphasia and their families, a language disorder caused by stroke or other brain injury. Adler Aphasia Center at JCC Metrowest, our newest satellite program partially funded by the Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey, will open its doors in late spring, 2012 in West Orange, N.J. The programs and activities offered at the Adler Aphasia Center and facilitated by speech language pathologists, all share the primary goals of enhancing the communication skills of its members, providing opportunities for social and peer support, and building members' self-esteem and self-confidence. The Center offers training and educational programs and is actively engaged in research efforts that examine the impact of its programs and offer innovative approaches to individual treatment.
