About Me:
I lived in San Diego. I am the 2nd child of 2. I was always the different one compared to my brother. He drifted more towards art, but when he was a kid, he played piano. I wanted to be like my brother so I always messed around on the piano, randomly pressing keys, thinking I was playing amazingly. At the age of 5, I moved to Wisconsin.
At the age of 6, my mom began making me take piano lessons. With this teacher, I played classical music, and nothing else. I learned the basics and gradually got better. My mom also played piano when she was young, so she also taught me, strictly making me practice when I didn't want to. This helped me improve a bit more than I would have on my own. I took those lessons for 4-5 years. During this time though, I detested playing piano. I found it to be so plain and boring. It was like this until I noticed my brother trying to play something on the piano. He was trying to play the MARIO THEME! This completely caught my interest. He never finished learning how to play it, but that one idea began more for me. At the age of 10, I moved to Los Angeles.
During the entire year after I moved, I barely touched the piano at all. After this period of time, I remembered the Mario Theme being played on piano. So I decided to learn it myself for fun. I did this by ear and a couple tutorials on Youtube. ;D This was when I discovered what could ACTUALLY be done on the piano. So many different things that are able to be played on the piano. This moment was just incredible! So then began my brand new experience!
For my 12th birthday, I asked for a keyboard. My wish was granted, and I had myself a YPG-635! I practice on this ALL THE TIME! I started learning VG songs left and right. My mom was incredibly surprised when I played Kyle Landry's Passion on the keyboard.
A little over a year later, my mom suggested I take piano lessons again, so I began learning jazz piano. This only lasted for about 4 months or so though. I learned the basics of jazz with this teacher, then finally moved onto my current teacher.
After the jazz teacher, I started learning from a completely different teacher. His name is Aaron McClasky. He taught me a lot, and I mean A LOT! I learned a lot of the things I should've learned a long time ago, like my scales, chords, etc...a lot of music theory. I also started up on classical music again, while staying with the jazz as well. With the classical music, I build up technique, and with jazz, I learn chord progressions and such. All this, alongside with composition and whatever else I want.
At this time, I'm still learning from Aaron, and am hoping for a composition major in college. I'll most likely be going to UCLA...gotta practice a lot more. I PROCRASTINATE SOOOOO MUCH!!!
With all that said, that is my life story. XD If you think about it, 15 years is actually a pretty long time.
I doubt anyone really read this far. I'd be amazed if you actually did. o.o
