Matt. 5:17-19 is fulfilled by Matt. 5:21-26, and Matt. 22:37-40. If people love their neighbors then they won't murder them. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jesus did follow his own advice (Matt. 5:38-45) and forgave those that killed him (Luke 23:34). They also tried to seize Jesus in John 7:30 but couldn't because the time for his death hadn't come yet. After John 8:59 Jesus still needed to heal a blind man (John 9) and raise a dead man (John 11). In the New Testament Jesus would appeal to people's hearts (or conscience, Matt. 13:1-23) by speaking God's words to them, he also did miracles (Luke 7:22-23, John 4:48) to try to get them to believe and repent.
