I know he's getting older and slower, and really wasn't THIS talented, but tell me Neil Peart wasn't a huge influence. Oh, along with Bonham, Moon. Baker, Palmer, Bruford, etc.

Wrong. Neil has changed his solo numerous times. And I didn't say that he's as good as Portnoy or Vinnie Paul or many others. Just that he was the inspiration for many of these drummers. @Ozma00X Totally agree. Lots of good chick drummers out there but most look bored when they're playing. Visual effect is almost as important as skill and technicality. Really makes a difference, ya know?
