can anyone guss the year of this tractor?i,m gussing 1950-51?
Mid 1950....early 1950 still had the "high and low" transmission.

@gwg1995, your not going to pull a wheelie with a stock A in 5th..4th..or 3rd. A stock late A only has 34HP. To be in pulling competition and have an A pull a wheelie in 5th you would need to spend probably 10,000 dollars in engine modifications. Still won't pull a wheelie in 5th.

Drews bearings gave up, so here i am putting new beasts in. Its really easy to do! :)
@tommartyn, No problem at all man....glad I could help you out. The bearings I bought are holding up great, they got quite a few road miles on them now too. Its crazy they make a quality bearing but they get ya by not packing them good...tell everybody ya know so they can do the same to theirs lol.

I used the same bearings as you on my 185s in the spring. I popped the seals off the sides of the bearings to look inside...they come with hardly any grease. I put a new timing chain in my 185s at the start of the summer. I got the chain, tensioner, and guide and replace it all. Took head to machine shop, had valve seats recut, valve guides checked.....new OEM Honda valves and valve seals....runs great now.. It has a 200s cylinder with a 65.50mm 10:25...

@reeseholler92, is your A all-fuel or gas? A gas one should have about 34hp. All of my A's are all-fuel originally. One of them has a gas manifold with .45 over M&W pistons now. The rest are stock.

@ACD19farmboy, strip it all the way to bare metal to get rid of all that mess. Make sure you use compatible primer, and the correct hardner and reducer in the paint.

Alot of people call those "Long Hood A's" or "Slant Dash A's". The extensions to the hood is the battery box. Later A's have the starter underneath the tractor and the battery is under the seat.

@actocs, 300 with the 4 speed is great......sadly though alot of people are resto-moding these trucks and putting a 351w in place of the smaller engines. For a everyday driver and light towing the 300 is very very tough to beat.

I have never seen a B with the problem you describe and I myself have one. Could be the climate in your area or something contributing to it.
