About Me:
I'm Liz and I'm BACK,
with my 1958 Decca record player and its nice glowing dusty valves.
And a big 'hello' to UMG and Sony Music Entertainment who've blacklisted 18 of my clips already - I'm just boosting awareness and your sales, so a 'thank you' would be nice!. :-)
I'm glad Dad kept my films on DVD-R, because here they are again....and many more!
Most of these 78's belonged to my grandparents and great-grandparents. They had a wind-up HMV player, and always took it out with them in their old Humber for picnics and holidays.
Dad looked after them for a while, but needed space for his hoard of old vinyl, so I was thrilled to be the new owner of these 'heirlooms'.
I've always loved 40's and 50's music along with the fashions and styles. Cars, clothes, furniture, the dances, you name it...what a great era. Wish I was a teen then :-(
Hope you enjoy listening to my shellac gems. The hissing, crackles and pops too!.
PS: Most of the details I write have been scoured off Wiki, the Guinness Book of British Hit Singles and the latest Record Collector Rare Record Price Guide. I'm no music history expert (yet!). If any details are wrong, please let me know.
PPS: On a few really quiet and hissy records, dad's recorded them via his PC and made them a tad better. Otherwise I'd have to give 'em a miss, and we don't want that, do we!.
Liz X
PPPS: If anyone objects to the tunes I've posted, please get in touch and I'll delete them within good reason.
