When Neth Neilson Chapman wrote this when she was grieving for her husband who died of cancer. I love the second verse that Elton changed to make it more universal. This song is such a help for grieving souls. It helps with some of the process.

Hauntingly beautiful! I love this band and the way they portray this song. When I was young child my father would rock me to sleep by singing this song. It puts me in my happy place.

I love, love, love Maggies version of this tune. I love Eric Bogle, but prefer the sweetness of her voice - written by Eric as a tribute to Stan Rogers. I have sung this at funerals and you can hear a pin drop - very poignant!
